As a California licensed family therapist, Dr. Maisel is part of the critical psychiatry movement investigating alternatives to the current mental health system. His interests in meaning and life purpose have prompted him to develop natural psychology, a new psychology of meaning.

     He writes the, ‘Rethinking Psychology’ column for ‘Psychology Today;’ blogs for Mad in America and the Global Summit on Diagnostic Alternatives, contributes pieces on mental health to the Huffington Post and leads life purpose boot camp classes, trains life purpose boot camp instructors and much more.  Dr. Maisel lives in the San Francisco Bay area where he maintains an active creativity Coaching Practice.
